Important meeting this Saturday, December 7th

goodfellasPerhaps not so much “important”… more like “food will be served”.  This Saturday we will be voting in our new officers that were nominated back in November.  They are Sally Evans as president, Al Wallace as Events Coordinator and Frank Struwe as Secretary.  Since there are no opposing candidates it will be a simple motion of approval, but getting a new president is kindof a big deal so come on out and shake Sally’s hand.  Oh, and have some club-provided pizza while you’re at it.

The meeting will be Saturday, December 7th at Goodfellas at noon.  This is also a good time to renew your club membership for 2014.  The cost is, as always, $30 for the year.  But don’t forget about it… a returning member who renews after January 31st, 2014 will be subject to a $10 penalty (total $40).  This is an accounting strategy to keep people from coming to all the events then retroactively renewing their membership at the end of the year.  You can read all about it in our bylaws.

[EDIT] You can also pay for the annual banquet at the meeting.  Cost is $5 per person.

New members allowed to join at this time?

This is a little confusing, but the short answer is yes, you can join in December. Basically, if you join now, you can come to the Annual Banquet in January (the banquet being a celebration for active members from the previous calendar year). You can also take advantage of the 4wd.com discount in time for Christmas if you join at next week’s meeting.

You would owe $2.50 for the last month remaining this year, and you could go ahead and join for 2014 as well for the full $30.

OR, you could wait until the February meeting, skipping the banquet, and join for the remainder of 2014 ($27.50).

No, it’s a family membership! Family is defined as those living under the same roof.

So the $30 per year covers your family.
