1982 CJ-8 Scrambler

I received the info below via the "contact us" page on the website from a widow who inherited her husband's project Jeep and would like to send it down the road to someone who will finish it. I am not posting her contact info here publicly but you can PM/text/email me if you are interested...

Re: January 2022 meeting minutes

The proposed bylaw changes are in the forum here since 12/2/21. I don't update the bylaws page on the main site until the changes have been approved.

https://www.mijc.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4408

However, I will make a post on the main site alerting non-forum-goers that it's there.

Proposed bylaw changes

As Jon indicated, there are some proposed bylaw changes that will be discussed at the December meeting. Below is the text of those changes. The intent is two-fold. First, in order to ensure officer positions are kept filled, the two-term limit will be removed, but it will be done in such a way as to...

TJ rust issues

I just took a look at a friend's '98 TJ with the typical bad frame rot from the rear control arm mounts on back. His daughter has been using it as a daily driver but the frame looks about ready to crack in half near the control arm mounts. He doesn't have the skills to do the work himself nor the mo...

Re: Tire pressure monitor

Perfect... that kind of hands-off adapting is what I was looking for. I got my wife a cheap unit for her Cherokee a couple years ago and that thing howls like a banshee if a sensor battery goes dead or is otherwise missing.

Sounds like the club will be gaining another TST-507 owner. Thanks all...

Re: Tire pressure monitor

Thanks guys. Is it pretty easy to turn the trailer sensors off and on so you can use it on the tow vehicle without the trailer? Or do you only use it when you're towing?

Tom, are you still towing with Ol' Red or do you have something newer?

Tire pressure monitor

Anyone run an aftermarket tire pressure monitor system that they like? I'm wanting something that would be able to monitor both my tow vehicle (which is too old to have a factory system) and 1 or 2-axle trailer. Spare tire monitoring would be a bonus. Something with both temperature and pressure wou...

Atlanta, Illinois - Route 66

I received the email below from the Tourism Development Director for Atlanta, Illinois. I followed up and asked what date she was looking at, and she said that they can schedule an event for us anytime this summer. Any Saturday in June, July, or August is currently open. Atlanta is along I-55/Old 66...

I think this looks fine. As we all know, none of it is written in stone anyway. Barring any complaints or suggestions, maybe we can approve this at the February meeting.

Re: 2021 Officer Nominations and Elections

While there's something to be said for Jon's sentiment, our hands are tied by our own bylaws, which themselves require multiple months' worth of meetings to change or add to them. And there's no language that addresses any of this... just requirements that we have nominations in November and electio...

Re: December Meeting via Zoom Poll

I have Zoom Pro (no time limit/participant limit) through my work. The offer stands... I'm happy to host it if that's the way we want to go. If you've not used Zoom before, it's pretty easy. A regular web link will be distributed via email sometime before the meeting. When it's time, simply follow t...
