Hot Springs ORV Park March 1-3 2019

Jessie and I are planning a wheeling trip to Arkansas for three days of wheeling in the park next to Hot Springs. I have heard several good things about this park and they have three trails that are part of the Badge of Honor program. They have a campground with cabins that are part of the park. If ...

Re: Memorial Day weekend

I think the main reason to register early is in hopes of getting the trail ride you want. I belong to the Western Illinois Jeep Club as well as this club. The WIJC does a lot to help with trail prep and trail rides so I will be there to help.

Re: Big Trip 2019

Some of the people who are going on the trip requested I do some research on the trails in Colorado. I used the Funtreks and Trailsoffroad website to look at a lot of the trails near Granby, Estes Park and Central City. I have also talked to some people that go out there every year. Most of the trai...

Re: Labor Day weekend Land Between the Lakes VS Blue Hollar

Meeting for breakfast sounds like a good idea. It does not look like there are very many restaurants open for breakfast. Cindy's on the Barge is open for breakfast and on the way to the park. Would meeting there at 8:30 work?

Re: Labor Day weekend Land Between the Lakes VS Blue Hollar

A heads up for those of us staying in the Aurora Oaks Campground. They are having a end of year potluck Saturday evening that gets started around 5pm. Last year they asked for people attending to bring a dish to pass. I did not know until I checked in so I was not very well prepared last year. The c...

Re: Labor Day weekend Land Between the Lakes VS Blue Hollar

Me and Greg (2004 Rubicon) are staying in the Aurora Oaks campground. Two of my adult children are also coming with their offroad rigs and are staying at Aurora Kentucky Lake Cottages in the hotel part. They also have cottages for rent.

Re: Big Trip 2019

I have found a couple campgrounds closer to the lodge. One is about 20 miles north and the other is about 30 miles west and north a bit. What are the dates you have booked the lodge so I would know what dates to try to reserve camping.
Thanks

Re: Big Trip 2019

If we are able to go we would like to camp with our teardrop. Preferably a campground with electric hookup and on site showers. I can look into nearby campgrounds for this. A month ago I booked the KOA in Central City, 30 miles west of Denver, for this August and all of their cabins were already ful...

Re: Land Between the Lakes, 2017

I just talked to someone in the visitor center and he said they have had about 3" rain and it is letting up this morning. He does not anticipate they will close Turkey Bay this weekend since the rain came steady.

Re: Land Between the Lakes, 2017

I am keeping an eye on the rainfall and plan to call the phone number they have on their website before we leave tomorrow. It looks like the majority of the rain will come this evening and overnight. I can post what they tell me when I check. Is anyone else planning to go? If so where and when would...

Land Between the Lakes, 2017

Jessie and I would like to go on the trip to Kentucky this year and take our teardrop camper. The post from last year says several people stayed in Aurora's Kentucky Lake Cottages. If people are planning on staying there again this year I would like to go ahead and make reservations at Aurora Oaks C...

Re: Jeep Blitz - Steijager - Bushnell May 19 - 20 2017

We are signed up for the weekend, but my attendance may be affected by farming. Hopefully we will be past the ugly busy part of the season or get just the right amount of rain. At any rate we signed up for the stock trails and we hope to avoid getting stuck.

Re: DASH CAM

I have a 6 foot telescopic pole that the go pro mounts on. I can get some very interesting view points this way. I did learn the hard way not to let it rest on the jeep while shooting footage or the vibrations and noise will be horrible.
