Re: Big trip 2018 Windrock TN damage report

Steve

Intermittent, engine seems flooded when started after a short duration shutdown. Requires a lot of skinny pedal to clear for about 30 seconds.

Re: Duke's Memorial Day Weekend

Had a great time at Dukes this weekend. Tom & I along with a virgin to wheeling, Drew Wirth, who now has come over to the dark side. I see Jeep in his future. Thanks to Tom all of my Gremlin issues with the motor install have been solved. It now runs great and ZERO codes. Yah! Turns out #3 plug ...

Re: New Engine Trouble Help

That is why I put a wooden dowel pin in the spark plug hole. You can watch it and when it is at its highest you know you are at TDC. Glad you got it figured out. Is it too early to start a Duke's Memorial Day weekend post? I am off Tuesday till the following Tuesday. I could come early and we could...

Re: New Engine Trouble Help

BTW I couldn't stick my finger in #1 hole and turn the crank, (hence the prior 1.5 sets of hands comment). Though I could see #1 plug while turning the crank. so ... I slightly loosened #1 plug and spayed it down with soapy water while turning the crank to make bubbles to determine the compression s...

Re: New Engine Trouble Help

I reinstalled the the cam position sensor per procedure and TA DA! It now runs fine. The video is 180 degrees off, which I figured out when I took a look at my old sensor, which was my problem. How it ran at all I'm not sure.

New Engine Trouble Help

I have the rebuilt engine running and no codes but it has no power and just doesn't sound right, (like it's missing). I'm at a loss as where to turn to next. Will suggested I replace the crank position sensor, however my code reader shows live data and I have RPMs which is where that info comes from...

Re: Jeep TJ Skid Plate

I started working on my Jeep awhile back with the goal of stopping all the leaks and rebuilding a very tired engine. The repair list keeps growing as I move along ... 1. Rear wheel seals. Turned into replacing all of the bearings, seals, ring & pinion (pinion chipped), and installing speedy seal...

Jeep TJ Skid Plate

The bungs welded in the frame that the bolts holding up the skid plate screw into are rusted out. Before I take off on my own repair adventure, has anyone done this repair and if so how, where you get the parts etc?

Looking for a head count and what days you are planning on attending. If you are like me and the the weather forecast is a bit too cold for your wheeling pleasure, you are still welcome to sit about the fire in the house and consume adult beverages and ring in the new year. 2017 Weather..PNG

This will buff out ... Right?

It started out simple enough, replace my rear hub seals which were leaking. Turns out the rear diff lube was more of a primordial soup trying to create life rather than lubricating anything. Wheel bearings were shot and I assumed, correctly, the ring and pinion bearings would be no better. So I pull...

Re: Replacing stock TJ coil springs

Can't speak for Skyjacker but have had good success with Rubicon Express. As Dave eluded, it's more complicated than just installing longer springs and shocks. You need the ability to adjust both front and rear track bars along with front caster and rear pinion angles. (I'm not sure why the shop wou...
