Retiring from MIJC

I have decided to retire from MIJC. A lot of you know that I was one of the founding members of the club, and I have enjoyed a lot of years of Jeepin' with fellow club members. My Jeep inventory now only consists of the 47 Willys, which is a 'street machine' and not an offroad vehicle. My motor vehi...

Re: Midwest Willys Reunion

Unless the event has grown in size since the Springfield Reunion a few years ago, you will easily be able to see it all in one day. Effingham is also home for the Mid America Corvette business. They have a free Corvette museum that is nice to see at least once. Also, the state's largest 'Cross' is i...

I am planning to attend also. Keep us posted if an MIJC group is going to Effingham. Our house is the midway point from Pekin if you come down rt121. Free restrooms and water!

Re: CJ6 research needed

Will, you are about to enter the 'Jeep Classic' world! CJ's are much easier to work with compared to the newer models of Jeep. You may earn a 'Real Jeep Builder' award for rebuilding the CJ6! Looks like you will need a front bumper and passenger side mirror also. I did not see a power steering pump,...

Re: Niagara Falls

If you go, you need to get on the Canadian side, the view is much better. We stayed at a bed n breaksfast about 6 blocks east of the downtown area on the Canadian side. We walked down to the scenic areas. There is also a 'speed boat' trip on the downside of the falls which would be a thrilling ride.

Will Watson Wanna Be

Brought home a couple of projects Saturday, one of which is a 1954 CJ3B. The disassembly is in process. There was no motor, trans or tcase, so it has been easy so far. Tub is ready to be lifted off. The plan is to build a 'nostalgia' off-road vehicle. What Will does in a month will take me all winte...
