Re: Dukes on Memorial Day weekend
Steve, Kat and I plan on being there Friday morning and leaving Monday morning. Like I asked earlier, I would like to borrow some electricity for the trailer. Sorry thought I responded on the power. Must of forgot to hit the send button. 20 Amp is no problem. The only 30 I have is for my welder. We...

Spencer ... I don't know if you are planning to stay in the house or planning to camp, but either way bring bedding. Other than that, your fav beverages, adult or otherwise for the lairs club about the campfire and ingredients for your signature food dish if you like. I have a big kitchen with all t...

Re: Transmission Swap
Oil pressure switch was bad. Easy fix but was a bit concerning since the motor is brand new. Have 60 PSI now. Fixed all the electrical gremblins save one, and it's got me stumped. Googled the problem but came up zip. When I turn on the key the running lights come on. Not the worst problem to have bu...

I kinda figured it out . Now I need a gauge. Read on line that it's not unusual for the sending unit to go bad. Hope that's the problem.Fraser wrote:I believe the factory sensor is very close to the filter. Remove that and install the fitting for the manual gauge there.

Where due you install the gauge?Matt Brown wrote:good quality mechanical gauge to see what the oil pressure actually is. I would also change the filter and top off the oil as needed. cut the old filter apart and look for metal flakes or any other foreign media.

The Jeep Runs 5-18-2016.jpg So I drive the new Jeep, with 164,00 miles on it, down to the mail box and back. Everything is okay except the mail ain't here yet. An hour later do the same, check engine light kicks on, warning pops up to inspect the gauges and there is zero oil pressure. I'm now sad. ...

As for tools ... perhaps a chainsaw in the event mine goes down. And a crane .. a crane would be nice.

Re: Transmission Swap
We are making progress. I now have a significant leak on the fuel rail. Stripped the harness back out to the fire wall and found, as suspected, a spot in the hot wire going to the pump hanging on by one thread (wire). So even though my 12 volt test light showed a complete circuit, when checked with ...

Re: 220v welder
Lincoln Powermig 180C. This unit has worked flawlessly. Has an all metal wire transport system that has never jammed. Amps and feed are fully adjustable and voltage is auto regulating to a point. Makes me look like a good welder.

Re: Transmission Swap
Hey thanks guys for all the help. Here is what I have so far. Hot wired the pump and it runs fine, pumps fuel to the rail and the #1 fuel injector leaks at the rail. (Will need to address that at some point.) When you first turn the key to on, I have juice at the connector going to the pump for a co...

Re: Transmission Swap
Solved the being in two places at once, using mirrors and contortion. The harness is definitely sending power to the pump when the key it turned.

The check engine light clears after going through it's initial check all the idiot light thing. I did some reading and at this point I'm not clear if I have power to the pump or not. I need to be in two places at once and haven't figured out how to do just that yet. I eliminated the relay being the ...

Re: Transmission Swap
Need some brain power here. I do not have any fuel at the engine rail. I have ... 1. Replaced the fuel pump. 2. Checked the power going to the fuel pump, okay 12 volts with the switch on. (plus gas gauge works) 3. blew down fuel line. Clear 4. Don't know were to go from here. Any and all (useful) he...

Re: Transmission Swap
It just keeps getting to be more and more fun. The machine shop called and asked if I had a spare oil pan for the engine. Why I asked? They sandblasted the old one and once all the rust was gone so was the oil pan. Full of holes. I'm ready for the motor but sourcing a new performance cam has been a ...

The chassis is done less fuel and brake line runs. Started in on the drive train by installing a SYE in the transfer case. While draining the oil there wasn't much oil to speak of, which was odd since none of the seals were leaking, which makes since as there was no oil to leak?. My worries were con...
