Logging In

Post by Duke Winch »

Even though I check the box to log me in automatically each visit I still have to log in. Is it settings on my computer, the website, or is the club trying to tell me something?

I hardly ever have to log in, so I know that function works. That checkbox uses a cookie on your computer to store your login information. This is a legitimate use of a cookie, but there are of course lots of bad websites out there that will use cookies to track or retrieve information about you. So it's possible that at some point you disabled cookies in your browser; some anti-virus/internet security software recommends it. If they are not disabled and it still doesn't work, you could try a different browser. I use Chrome and it works well.

It is sometimes difficult to balance usability/convenience with security. Like passwords... passwords that are easy to remember and type are often not very secure. 20-character random hashes are very secure but impossible to remember, made worse by having cookies disabled which makes you have to type the password on every visit. Although I suppose that would help you remember it better.

Thanks Dave,

It was a cookie thing. I had to add MIJC to my trusted site in the privacy section of internet options. Works fine now.

No problem... glad it was something relatively simple!
