We are making progress. I now have a significant leak on the fuel rail.

Stripped the harness back out to the fire wall and found, as suspected, a spot in the hot wire going to the pump hanging on by one thread (wire). So even though my 12 volt test light showed a complete circuit, when checked with a voltage meter, there was less than 10 volts which wasn't enough to kick on the pump.

This jeep is really trying to kick my a$$.

So I drive the new Jeep, with 164,00 miles on it, down to the mail box and back. Everything is okay except the mail ain't here yet. An hour later do the same, check engine light kicks on, warning pops up to inspect the gauges and there is zero oil pressure. I'm now sad. :( When I broke in the cam and took it to the mailbox the first time the oil pressure seemed a bit on the high side, but assumed that was a good thing.

Any and all suggestions as to what to do next would be appreciated. (Trying to eliminate any obvious steps before it goes back to the machine shop.)

good quality mechanical gauge to see what the oil pressure actually is. I would also change the filter and top off the oil as needed. cut the old filter apart and look for metal flakes or any other foreign media.

I believe the factory sensor is very close to the filter. Remove that and install the fitting for the manual gauge there.

I kinda figured it out . Now I need a gauge. Read on line that it's not unusual for the sending unit to go bad. Hope that's the problem.

Duke, I've had trouble with that sensor on Kat's jeep. Replaced it once and still acts up occasionally. Try unplugging it, spray connection with wd40, then plug it back in. I've had that work before. If it works after that you probably should replace it anyway.

Oil pressure switch was bad. Easy fix but was a bit concerning since the motor is brand new. Have 60 PSI now.

Fixed all the electrical gremblins save one, and it's got me stumped. Googled the problem but came up zip. When I turn on the key the running lights come on. Not the worst problem to have but annoying. With the key off, the head light switch works as expected. All the turn signals, etc. work fine. The Canadian version of the Jeep has a daytime driving lights which also turns on the headlamps at half power, which are not on, and there is a module on the fire wall for that feature. I definitely do not have that because I would have had to install it on the firewall during the build. Any thoughts?

Sounds like either a bad head light switch, or some how the flasher power wire got crossed with the parking light wire(s).
Thanks,
