Sally wanted tow hooks on her Commander.
I suppose maybe she wanted to pass inspections?
She bought the stock Mopar hooks.
I have been teasing her about helping me put them on. Decided that today was the day to put them on.
Her horoscope read today to not try anything new. Who am I to argue with the stars???
The days of taking a small plastic peice off and bolting tow hooks on are long gone, as I found out when I helped Loren put his hooks on.
First order of buisness, take the grill off.
This was not too bad four or five push pin fasteners and it pulled off.

Re: Commander tow hook install
Next the front fascia has to be removed. The instructions were not the best. Remove the 4 push pin fasteners, ok, remove the 3 plastic rivets in the fenderwall. Had to pull the tires off. Then it said to remove 1 screw each side. WTF? No screws. Finally figured out how to get it off but no other screws.
The hooks fit into holes that are already in the subframe of the Jeep. The holes are accesssed through a hole. No hole. Ok I guess these are the screws they were talking about.
All bolted up. Torque to 50 ft-lbs.
All back together.

Re: Commander tow hook install
From an experienced auto factory assemblers view: 1. Once apart they NEVER go back the same way. 2. Must use new push pins. 3. Hope that your vehicle wasn't built on a Friday especially, or the day before a holiday. Hooks look good. Now they can tow that Sebring around, instead me pushing it in the ice/snow. lol
