Flat Nasty Easter Weekend

Post by TSEJEEPERS »

I just got off the phone with Brenda at Barton's Lodging in Salem MO. I have reserved the large blue trailer and the brown trailer next to it for the weekend. I actually reserved from April 9 - 12. I just need a general number of who is planning on going and wants to stay there. I told her I would get back with her if we didn't need the second trailer. Last year the going rate was $20.00 a person per night.
I will double check the price when I call her back to confirm our numbers/reservation.

Thanks,
Sally

I'm interested. Don't know if I'd make it down Thursday or Friday night. Can I get some more details about the trailer accommodations? What's the alternative, tent camping?

The place we stay is within 1 mile of the park. Actually it is a trailer park, clean and comfortable. There is room for trailers.
The park (Flat Nasty) does have primitive camping. Word of warning. If you are towing with a 2 wheel drive truck unload it at the gate! The road going to the camping area is gravel and has some pretty good hills on it. The first time we went I made it to the second hill ,with my Jeep in tow, and had to unload it on the hill. It got interesting fast!

Here are our pictures from 2008. There is one picture of the trailer we stayed in. http://www.mijc.org/Events/2008/2008flatnasty.htm
And from 07 http://www.mijc.org/Events/2007/2007flatnasty.htm

I will be there. Like Jon, I would like to request the 2nd trailer. Of course at the other end from all the noise.

Judging from the requests, the unit of measure may be - bachelors in trailer #2, married or previously married in trailer #1 ????????????????????????????

We would like to go. Is there room for two adults and two kids? Another question would be is there a hotel near. Cause at 80.00 dollars a night we could probaly get a real nice hotel room.

If we have to we can get another trailer. I am not sure if she charges the same amount for kids or not.
There are hotels in Salem. Jerry ussually stays at one there,

Bob Lamb called and left a message that he plans on attending. I will call Brenda, see if she might have another trailer available since our number seems to be growing and check on kids pricing.

I'm going to call Brenda at Barton's later this afternoon to confirm everything and possibly ask about another trailer. Right now, we need 12-13 rooms. I think we stand at 10 rooms right now with 2 trailers, if my memory serves me right. Sooooo if you haven't posted already, Post Now!!!.

My request for a room still stands but now it looks like my fiancee will be joining me. I don't think that should change the room count though. Just an FYI.

Talked to Brenda at Barton's, she has reserved another trailer for our group. I asked her about kid prices. She said kids under 5 are free and $10 for over 5. Trailer 1 has 6 bedrooms, trailer2 has 4 bedrooms and trailer 3 has 3 bedrooms. We may have to do some creative parking.I know there is a camping area in back that we might be able to park the trucks and trailers at. I'll update everyone on food and what you can bring later
