If its ok, dukes thread

Post by vlucdog »

I thought I would start a official spring clean up/trail ride at dukes place. Because I will be there.

vicki won't, because her dad is home thru hostice.

Also if its ok, I would like to bring a friend. He has a 91 yj renegade oselot II. Yep, the one with all the body moulding. he would be riding with me though. I will also be bringing at least 1 chain saw, gas, and a spare chain.(steve, if we need a saw with a 20" bar let me know other wize i'll bring the 14".) dates would likley be friday thru sunday.

looking foward, Bill G.

I was going to clear a gully to add some length to the east boundary trail but ditched the idea when a huge limb blocked the gully that fell off an old oak tree. But if you want to have an excuss to play with your twenty incher, bring it along. The chain saw would be nice as well.

Buy the way, I have enough bar oil donated to the ranch over the years to lube up tree trimming convention so no need to bring any.

I walked the trails today and there is alot more stuff down than I expected and opening up the two gully's I have planned have some pretty big trees and/or snags, 12-24" in diameter, that will need to come down/out. If we have time, I would also like to do some work on Snake Grass Creek to see if we can get it opened up wide enough so Will, (and now perhaps me), can make it though to the end along with a new exit.

So this will definetly be a working weekend, so bring your gloves, and safety gear, and safety glass for sure when running the saws! It's a long way from the nearest hospital out here ... actually it's a long way to anything

I will be there with my buddy Vance for the day on Saturday. Although I'm going to do some test-towing next weekend, this will be the inaugural trip for my "new" tow vehicle. Everyone make sure you leave your phones turned on Saturday morning...

Perhaps I will bring some more chocolate chip cookies for lunch.

Sure. I figured when we got closer and everyone decided when they were leaving, we could all find a place to meet on Saturday morning and caravan down.

Let's see... how about the Tremont (rte. 9) exit off I-155 at 7am. That should be on the way for everyone who's going. Is there an easy place to meet there other than the side of the on-ramp?
