Duke's Independence Day Extravaganza

Post by Duke Winch »

Food! Fireworks!! and Wheeling!!! Friday night steak and tater dinner!!!! and of course, lies about a campfire every evening till the adult beverages kick in are all in store for those attending this years festivities. There's a lot of interest in empty seats, so you can be the first to get somebody to have to change their britches in the woods! (Spyder Gulch would be a good place to try).

So who's attending?

Duke

Do you allow Chevy s-10's with loud exhaust? ( I do own a jeep, but it got stuck in my driveway; so I've heard thats what happens to jeeps). I would be a MAYBE. Might have to haul 2 jeeps down to Olive Springs, Tenn. (thats the town where Coal Creak offroad park is) that weekend.

As of now, please count me in. I have the Cj sitting in the weeds with the front diff scattered in the garage. I think I have a plan..found a steel fence post that might work for a tie rod. Think I can bend it over the leaf springs...what the worse can happen??

Ken and I are planning to come. Will prolly bring the 94 stock YJ tho, as we don't have the 92 going yet...
Also, Ken and I both completed the 3.28 mile 10 obstacle course Warrior Dash this past Sunday!!!! Hoohrah!!!!! It was hard, verrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyy muddy, but great fun!
Hoohrah!! BTW, that's a pile of discarded shoes we are standing on, LOL!

Other news: We have decided to put the detroit locker and super 35 back under the TJ.
I have some questions for all you jeep mechanics out there:
1) We need the ring & pinions (456) for my TJ, is there a better brand we should look for or does it matter? Do we also need a rebuild kit?
2) Can we get it locally around here or do we need to order it online, if so, where?

Any info would be greatly appreciated so that I can get the parts needed asap (especially if they need to be ordered online).
Thanks,
~Shell[

I purchase my gears from Randy's Ring and Pinion. Very knowledgeable, since gears and axles is about all they do, and quick shipping. Randy's doesn't make anything and just re-badges the stuff they sell as Yukon. Ask if they have gears from Spicer as I feel they are the best.

I'll have 3 spots in my XJ, if anyone wants to keep the mud off of them
You can tent camp in the Dun-Did-Er-Campground (there's power in the campground), or bring a camper, or you can sleep in my camper (Three full size beds), or stake out a place in the house. Just bring your own bedding.

We can use your three seats, there are three guests that I know of that are coming, possibly more.

I plan on it. It depends on work. Whether I make it Fri night or Sat morn. Michelle has to work this weekend. So I have one empty seat. What do I need to bring for meals?

Just for foods sake, please be a bit more specific as to when you will be arriving. I would hate to come up short on taters Friday night.

By the way, the forecast is looking pretty good for the remainder of the week through the weekend!

You will be missed, but spoiling the grandkids is more important.

To be more specific, Carrie and I will be leaving after work and arriving around 8:30 or 9 Friday night. A waiting meal would be gah-lovely. :D We're planning on camping. We'll be departing sometime Sunday.

Who has the MIJC paper plate/plastic cutlery collection? It would be great if that could make it down to Duke's with someone.

Its a 4x4, gate hinge, bailing wire , shift lever. The 4x4 doubles as a flip me back on my wheels tool.
