How do you think a stock JK will fare? I wanna go but gotta talk the wife into it first.

A lot better than a stock Hummer. Lol! Everyone will tell you it isn't a problem at all. There is no shame in not doing something you don't feel comfortable and using the detours. I've heard it's better to know are limits stock and easier the more mods.

Re: Badlands 3/13
I seen a stock jeep with 29" bald street tires,no lift and had 4 people go through more than i thought it could. Done under estimate a Jeep.
Re: Badlands 3/13
I should be going Sat morning and Lida will come if she can make arrangements. We will need to drive separate from the group as the Jeep finally has new 5.13 gears and they are just part way through the break-in period. By the time we get there, it could be just about 500 miles on the new gears. I'm keeping the speed down, < 55mph, due to the gear break-in and not knowing the max safe sustained highway RPMs for my engine. At ~50mpg it's at about 2100RPM and according to a chart I've seen it could be close to 2900RPM at 70mph.
Re: Badlands 3/13
If you want to stop by you can change out your gear oil at my place in Champaign, I am about 1 mile off the market street exit on I-57 and right at 70 miles from badlands. I wont make this trip with my rig being on the rack at the moment. If you have a couple of hundred miles on the JK I would not worry too much about speed on the new gears, getting them hot will burn off the corrioson protection and 500 miles is not a hard number. Just drive it as you normally would. You running 35's on it?

Unfortunately, Lida and I can't make it tomorrow but we are definitely going to prep for Flat Nasty.
