MIJC Swap Meet Info

Post by DrDirt »

Are there any concrete plans for this extravaganza ???? Can I bring a trailer load?

Not yet, but, as a matter of fact, Dave and I were discussing this an hour ago. We will have this event, just not sure where. And, I think trailers should be allowed.

More to follow. Stay tuned.

Will watch for news. If local venue ends up being a problem, the swap meet could be held at my house. Biggest issue is I live 80 miles from Peoria.

After an informal meeting this evening with the events coordinator, I'd like to formally offer my house in Bartonville to do the swap meet at. I should have enough room to accommodate everyone, and trailers would be welcome (I would likely have the trailer folks show up earlier). Worst case, the lookie-loos who aren't bringing anything to sell could park on the street and walk over.

We can discuss this more thoroughly at the September meeting, but I'd like to pose the following questions for now:

1) Could we move it up to September 18th? This would work better for me, but if that's going to cause a lot of conflicts we can leave it on the 25th and I'll still host it. I would also propose we start at noon and do some hot dogs and burgers on the grill for lunch.

2) Who is planning on coming, and would you be bringing a trailer?

Please post your answers to the above two questions. Thanks!

Either day would work for me. Probably not bringing a trailer, but would have the truck.

We're going to do this on the original scheduled date, September 25th. See this post on the main site for more information. If you're planning on coming, please post here, PM or e-mail me so we can plan for food. Thanks!

Can the people bring trailers post what they might have on the trailer? It think it will help me ask the wife for more $$$ to spend. If i bring a trailer I have d44 HP, d60, ford 9 w/ mini spool, 220 mig, tubing roller, pipe bender, ect. all for sale.
Just a idea they may help everyone.

I can't make the meet but might be interested in the bender ... could it be used to fab a roll cage out of tubing? and if so what size mandrels come with it?

Its only good for bumpers and any bends around 60 degrees. It what every1 calls a tubing kinker. I've built some
bumpers with it but if you want a rollcage. I would go with a quality bender like the JD 2 bender. I just got mine works great!
