vt98xj wrote:So tempting to make the drive down but it is a really long trip! And I leave for NY on Monday for 2 weeks. Also means I am going to miss Dukes on the 4th :(

I need to find a truck and trailer so I don't need to drive the jeep to and from, too risky
DO IT!

I also believe thats Dukes is a bit after the 4th. If you are only gone 2 weeks you will be back in time.

:( We can't go on this one....We leave for Florida the following weekend, so this one will be spent mowing and other boring home ownership stuff. Talking about making it to Duke's. Have a safe and fun trip.

Hello: A buddy and I are both Jeep owners and had planned to be at the next drive-in meet up in July to join the club. Could we still go to the Badlands this weekend even if we aren't members and haven't been to a meeting? (we would of course bring the form and dues when we meet.) Never been to the Badlands and not terribly experienced. Went to the Top Of The Ozarks Jeep Jamboree but that is it. But, the badlands looks like fun. Is it somewhere a newbie could go without totally tearing everything up?

One member who is close to Peoria is leaving Friday night according to his post. That leaves me , the other members will be leaving from he Springfield area.
Unless things change. I would leave Morton, IL. ( the gas station north of I-74 , the one on the east side of the road at 6:30 am.

We would love to have you join us and looking forward to meeting you. You'll be fine at the Badlands, and as stated earlier we'll help you through any tough spots or find a way around.

I'll plan to meet in the parking lot. Don't wait on me, I'll find the group if you're ready to hit the trail before I get there.

Sounds great. We will plan to meet you at the gas station at 6:30am Looking forward to it. Not exactly sure which gas station is north of 74 but assuming it is one of them by Arbys, Hardees, Wendy's , etc. Is that correct?
