West Peoria 4th of July Parade
Parade line up should begin after 8:30am, when Rohmann Ave is blocked off between Sterling and Swords Ave. We should be in place, no later than 9:30am. Our spot is #33 and should be on the north side of Rohmann Ave. ALL entries are to enter the line up by way of Swords Ave off of Farmington Rd. There will be parade information booth on Swords Ave near Rohmann Ave. If you have to trailer your Jeep to the parade, parking for truck and trailer is available at Calvin Coolidge School on Rohmann in the line up area. This is the major parking area, so only a neccessity. As it is also for any other vehicles not in the parade, but for other participants.
The parade starts at 10 am, rain or shine. It should take approx. 40 minutes to drive the parade route. The last group should be ending about 11:30 am. All this information and area map is on the website WPLIONS.ORG. This is three times longer than Tremont with about the same amount of wall to wall spectators. Take that into account when getting candy. They promote this to be EXTREMELY patriotic and encourage to the highest degree to go as far as you want in red\white\blue. Please post up if you are going. We were given 160' for the guesstimate number of 12 Jeeps on the application. We can get more room, but they would like to know as soon as possible. (Like they have any idea how many Jeeps we can fit in ) Post any questions that the website doesn't have or I've covered. See you there!

Re: West Peoria 4th of July Parade
If I were going to be around, I'd do this parade the morning of the 4th, then run down to Duke's for the afternoon / evening and wheel there on the 5th, and possibly the 6th. Just thought this might be a good option for some folks...

There are people going. Just not everyone posts yes/no. We always seem to get a good turnout. As with anything new, there is hesitation and trying to fit in with holiday plans. It is the currently oldest in Illinois. We are between a group for peace (?) and the Star Wars guys. I'd prefer Space Balls myself.

Just going by what I've heard everyone before has promoted it to be. Even local news agencies. Maybe they need to get some reporters fact checkers fired. lol

Who has the club banners currently? Fraser? I will be at the parade just further back with the military trucks.

Re: West Peoria 4th of July Parade
We used to do the Hopedale parade. That was fun because it ended in the park where they were having their festival.

Re: West Peoria 4th of July Parade
I already spoke to Fraser, who does have the banners. They are in his truck, in his garage. He is in New Mexico. So unless someone has access or can gain access.....not suggesting, just saying...
