No Trespassing

Post by Duke Winch »

After my experience with on the 4th, where group of a dozen side by sides from Springfield were coming down to my place "Because the owner doesn't care who wheels here", but never came by the house to ask permission, Duke's Off Road Ranch has now been posted No Trespassing.

I've lost control of my own property. Folks not picking up after themselves, camping in my woods, wheeling at night, creating new trails, and general disrespect for my property and safety, (no helmets, riding double on quads, drinking and driving, etc.), and the personal liability this all incurs, has forced me to close the place down to all except club members, invited guests and a few adjoining property owners.

That's really a shame, Steve. I have specifically never posted a map, address or coordinates to your place on the website to try to prevent this kind of thing from happening. Did you talk to these guys? Any mention as to how they found out about your property?

Duke, Wow, what a bunch of, well unconsiderent not caring folks. Sorry to see you were having problems, and good luck in keeping them out!

At least your local now and keep an eye on the place.
Thanks,
Will

My only guess is the few local folks that did stop by for permission passed the word along and/or my neighbor Frankie who has always let folks onto his property. And its partly my fault. I never minded folks trial riding in the past, but it was always folks from the neighborhood or from town I knew. But when folks are driving in from out of town, it's getting out of hand.

Most folks I speak to talk of places that they use to wheel but are now posted no trespassing and they no longer go there. I'm sure the same will happen here, along with catching up with folks that don't know how to read and explaining it to em. I'm sure my neighbors and friends will stop by and ask what's going on and they'll help run folks off.

When I stopped in Raymond for gas ,on my way home, a guy asked me where I was going or coming from.
I told him a buddys place.
He said oh the place near Ramsey.
Yea the word is out.
I do not blame you at all. I noticed quite a few beer cans on the trails.

Not my side business!?!?!! These 'Duke's Season Passes' have been selling like hot cakes. Not to mention the beer can scrap value. Perhaps the whole QVC infomercial pushed things over the top.

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully things can be brought under control quickly.
