just another lift question

Post by JAEhop »

does anyone run w control arm drop brackets instead of opting for adjustable control arms? is this even a viable option ? pros and cons? just looking for some opinions . still on the fence as far as going with adjustable arms or reusing the stock arms ....thanks in advance

Not completely clear as to what you mean by drop brackets but, its no generally not a good idea to have anything hanging down that can catch on logs, rocks, ledges etc. The cleaner and tucked up out of the way things are the better.

works w a short arm kit, moves the arms to a more horizontal / factory position. also re- centers the wheel in the wheel well. it does hang down a bit. from what ive read its mainly noticeable when crawling but some say it hasnt hindered them at all. Thought maybe someone has used these or known someone who has and could give me their take on it.. alot more eonomical than a longarm kit or adjustable arms . supposed to improve on road performance and steering as well thanks steve

I hav e never lifted a JK but I would think you would need adjustable control arms at least in the upper rear to adjust your pinion angle.

i think they make the brackets for the rear also .. that should correct the pinion angle correct?

Maybe.
Again I do not know that much about JKs. Do you have a SYE or have they done away with the slip yoke in the transfercase?
What I am asking is if there is a slip yoke on the driveshaft or is it in the transfercase?
