Land Between The Lakes, Kentucky

Post by spitz »

Hello all! I figured since this is my first long-distance jeep trip with the club, that I'd start a thread for this trip. The MIJC calendar has the date set as the 3rd- 5th of September. A couple of us are going to head down on the 2nd of September to do some exploring beforehand... Nonetheless, I'm excited!

Spitzer I checked on the cabins and they are all booked for the dates we are looking at. It looks like we are going to have to camp after all.

We used to stay in Aurora KY.
It is a short drive to Turkey Bay from there.
You may want to check there too.

Will Turkey Bay be open by then? Their website says they are closed due to storm damage.

It has been years since we have been there.
Lots of hills, not really too tough.
No mud, as I said they will close the trails if they have too much rain.

LBL was always my favorite place to go. Anyone remember Bruder in the parking lot getting soaked cause he went in the "little" puddle?

What about the time his Jeep took off with him half in?
The waitress who looked at Jill like she was crazy when she asked for syrup for her hush puppies.

The trip is coming up this weekend. Who all is going? I know myself, Mike, and Ron will be heading out a day early. So we would need to find a spot to meet up on the 3rd. Just in advance, my cell is 309-472-4090.

We are still going too.
I will call Turkey Bay in the morning to make sure they are still open.
We are also planning on leaving on Friday sometime.

I just called Turkey Bay. They are open!
It is a recording so hopefully it is up to date.
What town is everyone staying in?
Do you want to meet up at Turkey Bay on Saturday morning?
Oh and to let people know, last time we were there it was a dry county.
If you want adult beverages, for after wheeling, plan on bringing them with you.
