Tire pressure monitor

Post by wdln »

Anyone run an aftermarket tire pressure monitor system that they like? I'm wanting something that would be able to monitor both my tow vehicle (which is too old to have a factory system) and 1 or 2-axle trailer. Spare tire monitoring would be a bonus. Something with both temperature and pressure would be nice.

There are lots of them out there... just wondering if anyone has any experience.

I have the TST 507 with cap sensors for my trailer. You can get kits with however many sensors are needed. This has both temperature & pressure displays. I like it other than the color display is difficult to read in the sunlight. Larry has the black & white display that might be easier to read in the daylight. I think Tom E and Duke also run this system so you might want to get their opinion.

Yep I run the same one. I do use the repeater on it. I am not sure if I really need it though.
I have been very happy with it.

Thanks guys. Is it pretty easy to turn the trailer sensors off and on so you can use it on the tow vehicle without the trailer? Or do you only use it when you're towing?

Tom, are you still towing with Ol' Red or do you have something newer?

I also have the TST 507. It will display data from whatever sensors it's receiving signals from, so if you leave the trailer behind, it will figure that out and only show the tow vehicle readings.

Perfect... that kind of hands-off adapting is what I was looking for. I got my wife a cheap unit for her Cherokee a couple years ago and that thing howls like a banshee if a sensor battery goes dead or is otherwise missing.

Sounds like the club will be gaining another TST-507 owner. Thanks all...
