June 24 - MIJC Picnic

Post by Jill Martin »

Just wanted to remind everyone about the Picnic that is going to be on Saturday June 24th. It will be at the same location as last year. The pavilion located at Fon Du Lac Park in East Peoria. It is at the top of the hill on Springfield Road.

MIJC will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, soda, water, and place settings. Please bring a covered dish (with food in it) to pass. We will start cooking at noon.

Please post here or email me at stearnes@heart.net if you are able to attend.

Thanks - Jill

Take War Memorial across the river and get off at the first exit, which is IL-116. Turn right and take that all the way into East Peoria. Once you go under I-74, Springfield Road will be the 2nd light (not counting the one right at I-74). Turn left. You'll go through one more light then up the big hill. Fondulac Park will be on your left. As Jill said, we'll be at the picnic shelter which is on your left after you turn into the park.

Looks like Dr.Dirt & Mrs. Dirt will not make it this year. Going to the NHRA drag races in Madison that weekend. Hope everyone has the normal good time, and weather cooperates.

No I don't need them anymore; thanks though. I found a way to make the polished aluminum work without having to worry about shine! Simple fix and stands out great.

To whomever is doing the shopping for the picnic: I still have a bunch of paper plates (about 60-70) and a giant box of plastic silverware, napkins and salt/pepper packets from last year's picnic. I will bring these with me on Saturday.

The picnic turned out great! The weather more than cooperated. The food was excellent and the company was even better. We missed alot of you but you were all in our thoughts. Hey I even made ice creme! Well I got help with the cranking part.
