Dukes Off Road Ranch Work (food) and Play (food) Weekend

Post by Duke Winch »

Put the weekend of April 8th on your calendar for the final push to get all of the trails open. (Weather and job permitting).

Most of the trails are done, and the remainder has been laid out, all the brush has been cleared, and it will take no more than a couple of hours to clear the remaining snags and larger trees and then it's play time!!!!

The trails range from easy to stupid so everyone can have fun.

I'll supply breakfast on Saturday and burgers and fries Saturday night, you supply the drinks and pot luck for lunch and sides.

There's tons of room in the house to stay so ... bring your bedding and a towel if ya plan to stay the night. Oh ... and gloves, chainsaw, and safety glasses. (Now that's what I call a pajama party! :D )

All MIJC Members and there guests are welcome.

A grand opening is planned for the future so stay tuned.

I figure Breakfast will be around 8:30. If you leave at 7 you should be here to get it hot off the griddle.

By my calculations it is only about 50 miles from Mt.Zion, do I still need to allow for an hour and a half drivetime? This estate must be way back in the woods !!!

So what are peoples plan on leaving for Dukes? I would like to leave sometime in the afternoon. Maybe sometime around 1:00. Duke could you shoot me a e mail with directions? My navigator will not be with me so I will be lost about half the time! I think it would be alot safer to send e mails out to people rather than posting the directions on the forum.

I'll also need some directions... Not sure when I'm leaving. Might not be until the evening. Please give directions that do NOT involve any small, rickety bridges!

I emailed the directions along with some maps to Tom. I attempted to email others but the Marge at the switch board said all the lines were tied up and I couldn't get them to go thru. (one ringy dingy, two ringy dingies)

Sorry but I will not be able to make it to Dukes this weekend. I have some work to do on my front end. Two of the bolts that are in the carrier came out and caught the air line for the air locker. I will need to figure out how to fix the line. I have it all apart now so I am installing new seals too. I think I will just stay home and make sure everything is alright and ready for Fulton. Sorry again!

I'm going to go ahead and 'fess up now before someone else posts about it... I did not make it to Duke's this weekend because I LOST A WHEEL OFF MY TRAILER somewhere between my house and the Field Shopping Center. So if anyone sees a grey rim with a brand-new tire on it laying by the side of the road, please grab it for me.

Thankfully both Jeeps are OK as is the trailer; I didn't even feel it when the wheel came off (hence why it is now no longer in my posession). Not sure how or why this happened.

wdln, sorry to hear about your loss, if and when you buy a new one would you post as to the cost of a new trailer tire if you find a good price? I could use four :)

I bought mine at Farm and Fleet. (Tire only) I think they were around $40 a piece. Jill and I both bought rims (spares) at the same time I think it was tractor supply? Jill picked them up and I paid her back.
