I discovered that the Jeep (no it's not the Fords version) T18 in my brothers CJ7 back-up light switch was busted (switch end broke off), and that they were discontinued, and not available anywhere (that I could find). So what to do. I decided that with the base and plunger portion still intact, I'd see if I could use that to activate a modern switch. I found a goo off the shelf switch, and a nut that it could screw into. I did some measurements, and determined I needed to remove 1/4" off the nut so that the old switch would work the new one. Once trimmed and tested for proper activation, I welded the new nut onto the old switch. It works! Now the reverse lights come on when you put the T18 into reverse. My fall back option was to have a barrel machined like the outer portion of the old switch that a new one would screw into and use a rod inside it to activate the switch, but this cheaper make shift works fine (for now).

Re: Jeep T18 Reverse Light Switch
Actually, I was concentrating so much on what will did with the switch I didn't even catch the raftsman. Never even saw it.
