Matt, after logging in do you hit the back button? That's what I have been doing wrong.

No, it has been forwarding me right to the index page. I log in again and it takes.

Matt, are you still encountering this problem? Same thing is happening when I log in.

I never have to log in... have you tried the "log me on automatically each visit" checkmark on the login page? This works great. I use it at home and at work, so whenever I go to the forum I'm automatically logged in.

Still going on here, I check the box and it will have me do it a second time. If I do get on the first time, then try to post, I have to login again. Oh well the site is a good one and I can live with it. 8)

You may want to go into your internet settings and specifically allow cookies for mijc.org. The forum uses a cookie file stored on your computer that it checks when you go to the forum. If there's no cookie file stored (in other words, if your browser is preventing it from being stored), it's going to ask you to log in every time, sometimes repeatedly.

Universally allowing cookies from any site you visit is dangerous, but you can enable specific sites in the security settings for your browser. Different browsers have the cookie options in different places, but if you're using Internet Explorer:

Go to Tools>Internet options

Click the Privacy tab

Click the Sites button

Type mijc.org in the Address field and click Allow

Click OK on that window

Click OK on the one behind it

For good measure, quit your browser and try visiting the forum again.

Mmmmmmm. Cookies. <Homer Simpson drooling noise>
