A very wet trip.

through-the-plastic

Well I wouldn’t call it a rousing success, as the weather was pretty dismal. But we had a great turnout for about an hour or two of wheeling in pouring rain at Duke’s Offroad Ranch. We broke into two groups and cleared a few trails before giving up for the day around lunch. It rained so much that even the cameras didn’t come out! Most of the photos (so far… thanks Dan & Betty Barding, Todd Watkins, and Jeff Hopwood) are of people in brown Carhart outfits standing around trying to stay or get dry. Duke mentioned a makeup weekend at some point… keep an eye out for a post.

I almost forgot… despite the bad weather, the club thanks Steve Vohs for opening up his home and letting us tear up his pasture.

Duke’s Cleanup Weekend

The weekend of March 28th is the annual cleanup weekend at Duke’s Offroad Ranch near Ramsey, Illinois. Accommodations available inside (bring an air mattress) or at the nearby Done Did’Er Campground. Join us for a weekend of wheeling and sawing. Duke says he’s got a new trail to cut so bring your work gloves. Watch here or the forum for more information.  Looks like some people are headed down after work on Friday, but a few of us are meeting at the Route 9 on-ramp to I-155 at 7am Saturday.
