Well I wouldn’t call it a rousing success, as the weather was pretty dismal. But we had a great turnout for about an hour or two of wheeling in pouring rain at Duke’s Offroad Ranch. We broke into two groups and cleared a few trails before giving up for the day around lunch. It rained so much that even the cameras didn’t come out! Most of the photos (so far… thanks Dan & Betty Barding, Todd Watkins, and Jeff Hopwood) are of people in brown Carhart outfits standing around trying to stay or get dry. Duke mentioned a makeup weekend at some point… keep an eye out for a post.
I almost forgot… despite the bad weather, the club thanks Steve Vohs for opening up his home and letting us tear up his pasture.
Added some more photos to the Inspections page. Also, archive photos from 2008, 2007, 2006, and 2005 are now complete. I hope to get to fixing the member pages this weekend with the new information you all provided to me. I have to balance working on my Jeep and working on the site!
The weekend of March 28th is the annual cleanup weekend at Duke’s Offroad Ranch near Ramsey, Illinois. Accommodations available inside (bring an air mattress) or at the nearby Done Did’Er Campground. Join us for a weekend of wheeling and sawing. Duke says he’s got a new trail to cut so bring your work gloves. Watch here or the forum for more information. Looks like some people are headed down after work on Friday, but a few of us are meeting at the Route 9 on-ramp to I-155 at 7am Saturday.
Still loading photos and modifying pages, but there’s still lots to see. Bear with me while I finish.
Join us at IPM in East Peoria (3116 N. Main Street) for inspections this Saturday, March 7th at noon. Lunch will be provided by the club. Bring your Jeep and get a second pair of eyes on it. Your fellow members will be helping check for mechanical problems as well as safety items like a first aid kit, tow strap, and hi-lift jack. Show off your ride and gawk at everyone else’s! Here’s what we inspect.
Thanks to Al Wallace and IPM for once again offering a great indoor area for us to have this event.
Duke has invited us all down for some wheeling, chainsawing, and a general good time the weekend of March 28th. Most people will be leaving Friday evening or early Saturday morning. Watch the forum or come back here for more information.
