Colchester Quarry March 30th

Our trip to Colchester Quarry is on Saturday, March 30th. It is located on the outskirts of Colchester, IL which is about a two hour drive from the Peoria area. The quarry is private property and we don't get to use this location often so it is a new experience for many of us.

To respect the privacy of the property owner, directions to the quarry will given to club members that are going. Let's meet at the quarry about 9 am. It was discussed at the last meeting that a small monetary contribution should be given to the owner of the quarry. Per that discussion, a cost of $10 per driver would be a fair price to pay for a good day of wheeling. Additionally, as with all other parks, all individuals are required to sign a wavier.

I have been told that we can get lunch delivered to our location and a port-a-potty is on site.

Please post up if you are going!

Larry

I am going!

I will need directions too.
Are there any plans on meeting somewhere and run there together?
If I remember right last time we met in Bartonville.

Looks like we might get a little rain in the morning. Hopefully, it won't be too slippery. I think I have sent directions to all those who posted that they are going. If I missed anyone, please let me know.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the trail!

Looks like it is just a little over an hour and a half to get there. Those interested in convoy, shall we meet at 7:15? We could meet at the McDonald's off of the Bartonville exit. I think there is a large gravel parking lot. Or, if someone has a better place, just let me know.

Steve, I have sent directions to your yahoo account.

Tom, I am sorry to hear that you won’t be able to make it. If you need a hand with the water pump on Sunday, let me know. I might be able to give you a hand if you want.

Thanks Larry but I need to diagnose first. I know I can smell anti freeze and that would be the first thing I would suspect. All the hoses are new, but I need to do a pressure test first.

We all had a lot of fun! For those that did not attend, the mud did provide a good challenge to ALL on the trails. Thank you to John Gage for being the leader at the site and arranging for us to use the property.

Other than some bruised ego's, the only trail damage that I am currently aware of was Shannon. He broke off both mirrors and some bolts on his bumper. I have yet to wash the mud off of my jeep to check for damage.

Looking forward to our next off road adventure.

Larry

Here are a few pictures from the day. I had an awesome time. Big shout out to John Gage for the gentle push over the cliff! Look forward to wheeling with you again sometime.
